Question #2

My favourite season is

  1. Winter

  2. Spring

  3. Summer

  4. Fall

Go to the Yukon!!! The Yukon does experience all four seasons (not just winter). Although our spring and fall are quick and often delayed (spring) or early-onset (winter), we still get all the highlights of them from blooming spring flowers to the colour change in the leaves. With some days in the summer hitting 20°C and January, the coldest month, averaging -17.6°C, all seasons are amazing to get out and explore.

Question #3

My favourite landscape is

  1. Mountains

  2. Lakes

  3. Forests

  4. Glaciers

  5. Cities

  6. Desert

Go to the Yukon!!! We have it all up here. Home to the World’s smallest desert and Canada’s tallest mountain, we are proud to call this gorgeous place our home. With so many lakes, it’s not hard to find one to have all to yourself. More of a city person? Although Whitehorse isn’t huge by city standards, it has all the amenities you could want plus the beauty of being more rural.

Question #4

My ideal day looks a little something like this

  1. Hooking up a dog team and exploring the stunning scenery with only the sound of the sled, the dog’s feet as they hit the ground and their breathing

  2. Listening firsthand as Elders share stories and visit the cultural and interpretive centres throughout the different regions

  3. Packing up my gear and heading into the mountains for a few days hike on one of the many marked trails

  4. Trying my luck at gold panning, followed by some gaming at the oldest operating casino in Canada. I’ll also enjoy a can-can show and finish the night off with the Sourtoe cocktail

  5. I’ll start the day off relaxing in the hot springs and then sit on a patio to enjoy some locally sourced food and locally made beer

  6. Load up the canoe and take a relaxing paddle around the many lakes or down the river for a day of sightseeing and good odds of some wildlife viewing too

  7. Taking a drive out to Kluane area and be in awe as the mountains continue to get larger and larger, as I keep my eyes out for bears, elk, wild horses, coyotes and plump porcupines

Go to the Yukon!!! Whatever activities you want to do, it is possible here. From cultural to wilderness adventures or just taking it easy in the city, The Yukon can fulfil all your dreams. With numerous cultural centres designed by many of the First Nations, you can experience the hospitality and traditions of Yukon First Nations.

Question #5

When I travel, I want to see

  3. Foxes, coyotes and wolves

  4. Porcupines, beavers, sheep, squirrels and hares

  5. Wild horses, elk, caribou, moose, bison and deer

  6. Lynx, cougars and wolverines

Go to the Yukon!!! With way too many fauna to list, the Yukon is a great place to see all of the above and more -sometimes even when you’re downtown Whitehorse. If there’s a certain animal/bird you hope to see, plan your visit around the time of year they are most active.
