We like to stay busy and take in as much as we can- this trip was no exception. We packed up our car after work, on a Friday night, for a last-minute adventure to head to the Nahanni Range Road.

We get out-and-about every chance we get. Rain, shine or snow and we are out exploring. Now that camping season has officially started, with the opening of the Territorial Campgrounds on April 30, 2021- the earliest opening ever, we are able to travel further and wider…or should that be wilder!

Every year the Tagish River and Marsh Lake are teeming with swans. What a sight to see! As some of the first waterways in the Yukon to unfreeze, the Trumpeter and Tundra Swans take a rest here for a few days before they continue their travels further north, east to Northwest Territories or west to Alaska.

Although there are no reptiles in the Yukon, you will be travelling at turtle speed as you make your way at Johnson’s Crossing and the Robert Campbell Hwy at Ross River, travelling through the traditional territory of the Kaska and interior Tlingit First Nations.
